What should i do?

planning on brewing either of these tomorrow sunday the 14th june 09, both very similar APA's

4.75kg maris otter pale malt
0.10kg crystal malt
0.20kg Honey
16g Centennial whole hops Approx 10% @60
50g Cascade whole hops approx 5.5% @15
50g Cascade hhole hops approx 5.5% @5

Safale s-04 yeast

23g Centennial whole hops Approx 10% @60
15g Cascade whole hops approx 5.5% @15
15g Cascade hhole hops approx 5.5% @1

has anyone any suggestions or opinions on which i should do?

  1. I can't see the flavour of honey having much impact on an APA. The C hops you are using are going to swamp the delicate aromas. It would probably lighten the body a bit in the second recipe, but you could do that with sugar.

  2. I was just using the recipe generator for the second recipe and that is what it recommended to me.

    Never got around to doing either of these due to illness but i am looking into a mix of the two, the fermentables from the first coupled with the hop additions of the second.

    The only reason for the honey is that i have some lying around and would like to use it in a brew.

  3. I think you should make a mango cider or kangaroo flavoured beer ummm ripper lol What about a rhubarb flavered beer or fruit salad flavour beer ummmmmmmmmm How are the sessions in the beer house these days man?
